Well, hello October! ๐
I had every intention of sitting down and writing this little update sooner, but October didn't feel like waiting for me to get my act together.ย
Here we are, already several days into the month, and I'm finally finding a moment to sit down, gather my thoughts, and check in with you.
If you've been around here for a little while, you probably already know that Copper Sky Bakehouse is a work in progress. A little baking, a little experimenting, a whole lot of learning, and occasionally wondering where the heck the day went.
And you know what? I'm okay with that.
A Little Fall in the Desertย
October is one of my favorite times of year.
There's something about the thought of cooler mornings, warm drinks, cozy kitchens, and all those wonderful fall flavors that makes me want to spend a little extra time baking.
Of course, living in the California desert means fall doesn't always arrive when the calendar says it should.
Sometimes we're still wearing shorts, running the air conditioner, and pretending that pumpkin decorations somehow make it sweater weather.ย
But that doesn't mean we can't enjoy a little autumn in the kitchen!
I'm talking cinnamon, brown sugar, maple, toasted nuts, and the smell of something delicious coming out of the oven.
And bread. Always bread.ย
What's Happening at Copper Sky?
A little bit of everything, actually.
I'm still learning my way around running an online shop, working on ideas for the Bakehouse, and figuring out how to balance everything else life throws my way.
Some days are productive. Some days the to-do list wins.
And some days I walk into the kitchen to do one thing and somehow end up doing six completely different things instead.
Please tell me I'm not the only one.ย
But even when things aren't moving quite as quickly as I'd like, they're still moving.
And I'm learning that there's something pretty wonderful about building something one small step at a time.
A Little Reminder from My Kitchenย
I've always believed there's something special about homemade food.
It doesn't have to be fancy. It doesn't have to look like it belongs in a magazine.
Sometimes it's a warm slice of bread with butter. Sometimes it's a cookie shared with a friend. Sometimes it's showing up at someone's door with a loaf of sourdough because you know they've been having a rough week.
That's one of my favorite things about baking.
It's a simple way of saying, Hey, I was thinking about you.
And really, that's a big part of what I want Copper Sky Bakehouse to be about.
Good food, a little kindness, and making everyday moments feel just a bit more special.
Here's to October!ย
So, here's to another month of experimenting in the kitchen, trying new things, making a few mistakes, and hopefully creating something delicious along the way.
I've got ideas floating around in my head, recipes I'd like to play with, and a growing list of things I want to share with you.
Will I get to all of them this month?
Probably not. ๐
But that's okay. There's always another day, another batch, and another opportunity to try something new.
Thanks for being here, following along, and giving this little desert Bakehouse a place in your day.
Pull up a chair. Pour yourself something warm. I'm glad you're here.ย
Until next time,
